Eine Veranstaltungsreihe zu Queerer Praxis und Theorie – Queere Medizin, Medienkulturen und ein Blick auf ihre Gegener*innen!
Queere Theorie ist in Deutschland noch immer ein marginalisiertes Forschungsfeld. Grade einmal eine Professur in ganz Deutschland ist dezidiert diesem Thema gewidmet. Auch zeigen die Anfeindungen gegen Menschen aus der LGBTQAI*+ Community, dass Queeres leben noch immer nicht sicher ist. Doch was bedeuten diese Befunde für Praxis und Theorie? Die Vortragsreihe versucht mit drei spannenden Vorträgen Antworten auf diese Fragen zu geben.
QueerMed Deutschland
Neben fachlicher Expertise wünschen sich Patient*innen beim Praxisbesuch
vor allem eins: Respekt. Der diskriminierungssensible Umgang mit
Patient*innen trägt essenziell dazu bei, wie Patient*innen sich fühlen
und ob eine Genesung stattfinden kann. Mit Queermed Deutschland hat
Gründer*in Sara Grzybek ein Projekt auf die Beine gestellt, was den
Bedarf an sensibilisierten Umgang im Gesundheitswesen aufdecken und
unterstützen möchte.

Antifeminismus als verbindendes Element der (neuen) Rechten und Konservativen
Nichts hält sich in Gruppierungen, Institutionen und der Ideologie der Neuen Rechten und Konservativen hartnäckiger als die Erzählung um den »starken Mann«.
Auch 55 Jahre nach Klaus Theweleits Analyse der »Männerphantasien«, die Grundlage für eine Männerforschung darstellt, gibt es viel zu besprechen: Denn obgleich Gruppierungen der Neuen Rechten und Konservativen an vielen Stellen sehr heterogene Ansichten und Überzeugungen haben, so eint sie das Bindeglied des Antifeminismus und der Trans*feindlichkeit.
In ihren Untergangsphantasien des »westlichen Abendlandes« spielt der Verlust von Männlichkeit und die Angst vor »Verschwulung« der Männer eine essentielle Rolle. Von Proud Boys über Incels und Burschenschaften bis hin zur Identitären Bewegung und ihren Nachfolger*innen ist die Überzeugung von einer martialischen Männlichkeit und einer vehementen Ablehnung vom Feminismus verbreitet und bringt zusammen, was eigentlich sonst von starken Differenzen geprägt ist.

Queer – was heisst das?!
Wofür steht eigentlich LGBTQ+? Was bedeutet Heteronormativität? Und wie können biologisches Geschlecht, soziales Geschlecht, sexuelles Begehren und ihre möglichen Verstrickungen gedacht werden? Der Impulsvortrag bietet eine Einführung in Begriffe und Theorien kulturwissenschaftlicher Queer Studies. Dabei werden auch poststrukturalistische Positionen diskutiert, die im Anschluss an Judith Butler Identitätskonzepte kritisch reflektieren.

A series of events on queer practice and theory – queer medicine, media cultures and a look at their opponents!
Queer theory is still a marginalized field of research in Germany. Only one professorship in Germany is dedicated to this topic. Also, the hostilities against people from the LGBTQAI*+ community show that queer life is still not safe. But what do these findings mean for practice and theory? The lecture series tries to give answers to these questions with three exciting lectures.

Antifeminism as a unifying element of the (new) right and conservatives

Even 55 years after Klaus Theweleit’s analysis of “male fantasies,” which forms the basis for a study of men, there is much to discuss: For although groupings of the New Right and conservatives have very heterogeneous views and convictions in many places, they are united by the link of antifeminism and trans*phobia.
In their doomsday fantasies of the “Western Occident,” the loss of masculinity and the fear of the “Verschwulung” of men play an essential role. From proud boys to incels and fraternities to the Identitarian movement and its successors, the conviction of a martial masculinity and a vehement rejection of feminism is widespread and brings together what is otherwise characterized by strong differences.

Queer – what does it mean!
What does LGBTQ+ actually stand for? What does heteronormativity mean? And how can biological sex, social gender, sexual desire and their possible entanglements be thought? The keynote lecture offers an introduction to concepts and theories of cultural studies queer studies. Poststructuralist positions will also be discussed, which critically reflect concepts of identity following Judith Butler.
The lecture will take place on 6/26 at 6:00pm in the US-C campus. We will meet in the foyer.
All lectures are in German and are aimed at beginners in the field of Queer Theory.
